Product Description
Amethyst is an opaque, dark purple glaze that has a consistent, reliable result that is great for classrooms. Due to the purple pigment Amethyst might lose some of the rich purple color when fired at a higher temperature. Originally part of the Celebration line, a series inspired by the classic Fiesta tableware ceramics, Amethyst is food-safe, safe for spray application, and great as a liner or even a base for layering other glazes. Suitable for firing cone 5 and up.
Several artists have experimented with the Celebration glazes in wood, soda, and salt at temperatures up to cone 12, which yielded great results!
